Approximately a year ago, I met Beverly Mussari when I had luncheon at her Gazebo Tea Room on Kenwood Road. During the meal she visited with me and my companion. Besides sharing a wealth of knowledge about tea and tearooms, she also kindly offered to help promote my book when it was published. And she definitely has kept her word!
Besides inviting me to participate in the Blue Ash Arts & Crafts Show last December, she has generously told people about the book at other events, and she invited me to be the guest speaker at the 50th anniversary celebration of the Blue Ash Woman’s Club held at the Blue Ash Presbyterian Church on April 22nd. On Saturday, I spoke to the ladies following a lovely luncheon typical of the menus in the bygone tearooms discussed in my talk.
Beautiful place settings with fine china and silverware were used, and hats were even provided for those who wished to participate in the retro feel of the luncheon’s theme.
After the presentation, a few ladies shared their own stories, providing me with some new information. If only I’d known how to reach all these ladies when I was in my research phase!
I can’t recall what we were laughing about, but we were having a good time!
