On May 7th the Miami Historical Society of Whitewater Township had a lovely Spring Tea and kindly asked me to speak after luncheon. The ladies of this group really know how to put on a party!
The room was beautifully decorated with fine china and silverware on top of cloth table coverings, wonderful flower arrangements, and food that was both beautifully displayed and equally tasty (and had been made with some of the book’s recipes!).
The ladies had even taken the time to fill a glass case with hats, gloves, and jewelry typical of what women wore in the day to tearooms – and there were some great old hat boxes from Shillito’s and Mabley & Carew too!
It was a very special day for me – I greatly appreciated the effort that went into making a setting that brought The Lost Tea Rooms of Downtown Cincinnati to life!
