Glendale Author Event

On Sunday, June 25th, Glendale was the place to be!  In addition to a car show in the morning and the civic orchestra playing in the evening, the Glendale Community Library hosted an Author Event in the Harry Whiting Brown Scout House.

All types of books were on display – from vintage to brand new publications.  They covered a wide range of subjects – both fiction and nonfiction – from cooking to camping, local history to spy intrigue.

Out of the approximately 40 authors who were represented by their books, eleven local authors were there in person to speak with people about their books, sell copies, and in one case, the illustrator sold original paintings.  The money raised by Abbey Franzen’s paintings goes to a very good cause: Fighting Fanconi Anemia.  Check out her website. http://www.abbeysarmy.org/

I participated and presented all four of my books:

Discover The PastFrom Eulogy To JoyVirginia Bakery Remembered, and Lost Tea Rooms of Downtown Cincinnati.

All in all, it was a lovely day.  As one of the other authors, Sugi Stewart, said to me, “There was a feeling of pleasantry in the room…I saw some old friends, as well as made a few new ones.”
