The Wyoming Woman’s Club

The Wyoming Women’s Club hosted a lovely event on October 2nd.  A lot of thought and detail had gone into the luncheon.  The tables were decorated with flowers in teapots, along with napkin rings highlighting the old department store names, and beautiful silver teapots belonging to the organization were on display by the podium.

The luncheon menu included two recipes from the book.  The Hot Bacon Dressing that was served in Shillito’s Tea Room topped our spinach salads; and for dessert, we enjoyed Apple Pie Cake made from the recipe that was obtained via Inez Patterson Drexelius who was the manager of McAlpin’s Tea Room for many years,

One lovely lady, Mary Ellen Begehr, brought three pairs of beautiful white gloves in honor of the day’s theme – bygone tearooms.

It was great fun seeing people I haven’t seen for years, as well as making some new ones.

Beth Roeseler took a great (flattering!) picture of Carol Beeson who along with Terri Pinkston gifted me with some lovely flowers.

Missy Horn, Dr. Susan Lang, and Mary Ellen Begehr show off some beautiful white gloves from Mary Ellen’s vintage collection.
